ABOUT THE WARTHOG

Is a fascinating and distinctive members of the pig family famously known as [KASONGO]  found in the grassland, savannah and woodland in sub – Saharan African  they are medium sized animals with stocky bodies and large flat heads with “warts” on their face are not true warts nut rather thick bony protrusions that  serves as protection especially for male during fight males have two pairs while females have  one with long legs and a short neck which necessitates an interesting adaption for grazing  they often kneel on their front wrists.

Their bodies are sparsely [mostly] covered with bristly hair and they are typically brown or grayish in color  and when they run they often hold their tails erect like an antenna possibly as a visual signal of other warthog in tall grass.
